SKYETEC OFFERS SAVINGS, COMFORT FOR HOMEOWNERS
The 2008 hurricane season has brought numerous concerns to many in the United States. Add to that poor economic times and you’ve got people looking for ways to protect themselves and to save money.
Panhandle and Gulf Coast residents are able to take advantage of an available Wind Mitigation service. The service, provided by rigorously trained Wind Inspectors of SkyeTec, offers immediate feedback, efficiency, objectivity and customer support for both the homeowner and their insurance provider.
“It’s an inexpensive way to find out how you can protect your home and family,” offers Kristi Uhland, director of marketing for SkyeTec.
SkyeTec has built the largest network of Certified Wind Inspectors in Florida, and currently has provided more than 90,000 wind certifications within Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina. SkyeTec continues to service these areas while increasing emphasis on the Panhandle and Gulf Coast regions.
According to statistics from the My Safe Florida Home Web Site, wind mitigation certifications afford homeowners the opportunity to save a statewide average of 16.3 percent on their homeowner’s wind insurance premiums annually. Counties in the Panhandle, Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton have higher than state average projected discounts of 20 percent. That equates to between $249 and $371 savings per year.
Darius Grimes SkyeTec’s executive director of operations said, “Hurricanes are a naturally occurring weather phenomenon and while the potential of one sometimes seems distant, the comfort of knowing your home is wind-safe should not.”
