SkyeTec partners with ENERGY STAR to provide energy rating services

Jacksonville– SkyeTec today announced their strategic partnership with ENERGY STAR, a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. SkyeTec is now a home energy rater that provides comprehensive services to builders, including plan analysis, diagnostic testing, thermal bypass testing, sales training, and marketing support.
“We are happy to be able to provide consulting services to our clients as they transition to green building practices,” said SkyeTec CEO Christopher Uhland. “With energy costs escalating, it is important that homebuyers purchase homes that will allow them to enjoy lower utility bills for years to come, and minimize harmful impacts on the environment at the same time.”
Features of green and energy efficient homes include tight construction and ducts, ENERGY STAR® appliances and programmable thermostats, insulation, windows, and heating and cooling systems. Benefits to homebuyers include increased thermal comfort and indoor air quality, noise reduction, lower ongoing operating and maintenance costs and more durable construction.
About Energy Star Qualified Homes
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes. www.energystar.gov
