Wind Mitigation inspections provide valuable information to you as a Florida homeowner that may help you save money every year on the wind portion of your homeowners insurance policy. The inspection process also helps you understand how you can better protect your loved ones and homes against future hurricane or windstorm losses. Our inspection focuses on wind resistant features in the following categories: roof-to-deck attachment, roof covering material, roof shape, gable end bracing, secondary water barrier, roof-to-wall connection, and protective openings (windows, doors, skylights, etc.). Once your inspection is scheduled, a SkyeTec representative will email you a list of how you can best prepare for our site visit (access to the attic, documentation of opening protection features, etc.).
Our Wind Mitigation Inspectors have passed background checks, fingerprints and met all necessary industry requirements. Our inspectors are selected based on demonstrated knowledge levels of wind loss mitigation features and work experience in building science fields. Almost half of our field inspectors are bilingual.
