Are You Ready for the 2009 Hurricane Season?
Homeowners Save Money and Prepare for Hurricane Season with SkyeTec Wind Storm Inspection
As the 2009 Hurricane Season approaches, Florida residents once again brace themselves for a potential storm coming their way. Saving money and protecting their homes are two priorities, and SkyeTec has a simple solution for both.
SkyeTec’s Wind Storm Inspection has helped thousands of homeowners lower their homeowner’s insurance premium while educating them on their home’s wind resistance. The average savings realized by Florida citizens is around $220 per year on the wind portion of their homeowners insurance, or around 18%.
“Many of our customers are surprised by the amount of money they are able to save just by having an inspection done on their house, and not changing a thing” states Matthew Garner, Mitigation Services Director for SkyeTec.
Homeowners shopping for a new policy may be able to receive the discounted rate; the report is valid for five years, and is transferable among insurance companies.
The savings are easy to realize: an inspector documents the home’s current wind resistant features and sends the report to their insurance company, who then may lower the insurance premium based on the findings. The home is rated on a scale from 1-100 based upon criteria that have been set by the state of Florida.
The report also provides recommendations on what the homeowner can do to further protect their assets from hurricane damage, and the costs for completing the upgrades. A rating estimation is provided based upon each upgrade that is recommended, so that the homeowner understands just how much more resistant their home will be against hurricanes.
SkyeTec has built the largest network of Certified Wind Inspectors in Florida, and currently has provided more than 90,000 wind inspections within Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina. Our Wind Inspectors are trained, fully background checked, and drug tested to ensure the highest level of integrity and quality. Upon inspection completion, the homeowner can expect to receive their report within seven business days.
